Hippity, Hoppity, Easter's on its Way!

It's already March which means that Easter is only a month way. I can't believe it! While last year was technically Grace's first Easter, we did not do much in terms of celebrating. She was only 4  weeks old and I was completely exhausted. Easter was the last thing on my mind. However, I did manage to throw together an Easter basket at the last minute. It consisted of a soft Peter Cottontail book and a wood rattle.

This year I have adjusted (at least a little bit) to having a child in the house, and am starting to think of ways to make Easter special. She is a little too young for all of the Easter traditions like scavenger and easter egg hunts, but I can still give her an awesome Easter basket.  Here are a few things I have been thinking about putting in her basket.

As a little girl it wasn't Easter unless I got a new fancy dress and shoes to match.  At the time I thought these dresses were a form of cruel torture. In my eyes the dress was often hideously frilly and too poofy to run the halls of the church or even sit in the pews. The shoes were just as bad made with stiff fake leather that would make your feet numb by the end of the service. I swore that as a mom I would never make my daughter wear these horrible clothes. However, now that I have a child of my own, I get it. Those Easter dresses are too cute to pass up. Grace will be dressed to the nines on Easter. Besides, who am I to break years of tradition?
