Grace's turned just turned 41 weeks. I know, I'm counting in weeks, but hang with me. I thought it would be fun to post a picture of me pregnant at 41 weeks vs Grace today.
At 41 weeks I felt HUGE, and unbeknownst to me I still had another 4 days to go. I had one outfit that fit, had a hard time rolling over in bed, and was an emotional wreck. I also had painful Braxton Hicks contractions, but labor just wouldn't start. Soon I would find out why; during an ultrasound they discovered Grace had her head tilted back and wanted to come out nose first. I was told to come back on Monday for a likely c-section. I went home and tried all kinds of crazy positions to try to get Grace to tuck her chin. Twisting a pregnant body into a pretzel is no small feat. Luckily, she eventually tucked her chin, and I went into labor Sunday morning. After about 12 hours of labor she arrived weighing 8lbs 14oz and was 20in long.
Today, at 9.5 months old Grace weighs 23lbs and is almost 30in long. She has 6 teeth and is keeping me busy with all of her crawling and cruising. Her favorite thing right now is to crawl up the stairs. She giggles the entire time. I cannot believe how fast she has grown.
As much as I miss the days of feeling Grace kick inside me, I do not miss being 40+ weeks pregnant. I will take my tantrum throwing 9 month old over that any day, and this way I get baby snuggles.
