Margaritas are my favorite cocktail. I would drink them every night if the waistband on my jeans would allow it. So of course, margaritas have become a staple in our household. I have had a ton of fun (and sometimes too much) over the years trying all kinds of mixes and recipes in search of that perfect cocktail. This whole fruit margarita recipe is by far my favorite. It is made with real fruit (no icky preservatives or dyes) and is sooooooo good. I mean, better than your child's naptime, good.
This recipe is so simple, and is really easy to make if you have a halfway decent blender, I use a Vitamix. Just add tequila, triple sec, fruit, sugar and ice to a blender and blend to your desired consistency.
If your blender has a high mode that works best to crush the ice. I slowly increase the speed on my blender to 10 and hit the high speed lever for about 30 seconds - 1 minute. The consistency turns out great every time.
Real Fruit Margarita
(Adapted from Vitamix)

6 ounces tequila
2 ounces triple sec
1 orange, peeled and halved
1 lemon, peeled
1 lime, peeled
1/4-1/2 cup sugar
Ice to fill blender
Add all ingredients in order to blender. Blend to desired consistency. (Add water if needed) Serve and Enjoy!
You can also make flavored margaritas by adding strawberries, raspberries or mangos. The possibilities are endless.
