Grace already had her birthday party over the weekend, so today I decided to take her on a little birthday adventure. Anthony was even able to take a little break from work to join us for awhile.
The day started with a huge Pinterest fail. I had seen this adorable idea of putting balloons in the birthday girl's crib when she awoke as a fun photo opportunity. Instead of having a good time playing with the balloons Grace threw a fit. I think this picture speaks for itself.
After the meltdown it was time for Grace's special birthday breakfast complete with pancakes and sprinkles.
Then it was time to head to the orthopedic surgeon for a check-up on her feet. I am happy to report that Grace will remain cast free for now. Since her feet are still creased we will reevaluate in August after her muscles have had time to strengthen from all of her walking.
After the appointment Grace and I headed to Daddy's work to pick him up and go to the aquarium. Grace loves to watch the fish at the zoo, so I thought the glass tunnels at the aquarium would be a fun treat. Grace was absolutely in awe of the fish. She would have stared at them all day if we would have let her. I think her favorite part, though was touching the stingrays. Of course, no day with Grace would be complete without a little stubbornness. She insisted on walking all day and refused to sit in the stroller. There was even a period where she insisted on pushing the stroller all be herself.
We capped off the day with a stop at the frozen yogurt shop for a special birthday treat. Grace has never sat so still in her life.
